The Invest in Kids scholarship program will not be extended, but there is still an opportunity for Chicago to create its own scholarship program through the City Council.
Chicago could use existing funds, including tax increment financing funds, to provide funding for a city-administered private school scholarship program.
Implementing a scholarship program could help offset costs for the district and provide more school choice for families in Chicago. [ more ]
